"Thriller"
Narrator: “You hear the door slam.” Your heart is racing. Nothing matters, but getting to the end of this book. There something about this novel that’s really horrifying. You “realize there’s nowhere left to run” to turn, except the page... you keep reading, you keep visualizing, and hearing the creaks in the walls of your house. “You feel the cold hand” of the killer on your shoulder. It’s 3am and you have to “wonder if you’ll ever see the sun” because at this rate it’s like the whole murder mystery thing is happening to you. 5 characters are dead, who’s next?

BOO!
“...close your eyes and hope that this is just [your] imagination” going wild. You know there’s nothing left to do but read. To finish. So you do. It’s a marathon against the sun. You started this yesterday and now you can’t put it down, “girl, but all the while” you keep glancing at your phone, expecting it to ring in the middle of the night. You are on edge. “You hear a creature creeping up behind” you. You hope the rats stopped nesting in your walls. That Lola, your pup, isn’t walking around. It’s getting closer by the minute. 10 pages left and the alarm clock rings. You jump from your seat. Startled. The piercing ring in the other room is deafening! “You’re out of time,” and you’re disappointed ‘cause this is thriller.” What a thriller novel. So close to finding out what happens in the end you had a “thriller night” and while you want to stay and read the last few pages, “no one’s gonna save you” at work. You have to put it down to get in on time. They won’t hear anything about your being late. How did you end up with only a few juicy, tantalizing remaining pages of this book that made you jump in fear at least once every other chapter. You still haven’t found out who it is. Tonight you’ll realize that “no one’s gonna save” the characters in this novel.
