“I Can’t Stay”

 Sam is stuck on the side of the road. His car has broken down.

Message Machine: Please leave a message after the beep. *beep*

Sam: Hey Sierra, it’s me. I won’t be at the party tonight. I’m really going to miss it though. “The emotion” and everything you put into the parties is amazing. The last one you threw “was electric.” You’d be happy to hear that I’m looking at the sky right now. You know a lot about stars and what constellations they are part of. I see the Big Dipper as “the stars they all aligned.” It really is easier to see everything outside the city limits.

That reminds me. I can’t come to the party because I ran out of gas outside the city again. You were so mad when I didn’t call last time. “I knew I had to make my decision” this time around and actually call to let you know. Don’t be mad at me. I know we talked about us actually hanging out, “but I never made the time.” You were right about the gas meter being out of whack if that’s any consolation. I’m not trying to avoid you, it’s just been busy so “no, I never made the time.”

If I get my car fixed then I can try to swing by, but it’s already way late.

Honestly, it’s creepy “in the dark.” I’ve been waiting for roadside assistance “for a while now.” I would have thought they would have been here by now.

UGH, my phone is on 20% and I didn’t bring a charger so “I can’t stay” on the phone “much longer.”

Don’t let my mess up ruin our potential. Hope the party is awesome. I miss you.
