"Leave (Get Out)"
Sarah: What’s going on between you and Dray?
Josie: If I knew the answer to that I wouldn’t be moping here.
Sarah: You should talk to him.
Josie: I know, but isn’t this just simpler?
Sarah: Sure, but you’re so much sadder and I don’t see him caring this much.
Josie: He’d “tell me how we’re gonna be together always”. He is always so sweet about it too.
Sarah: Well all guys say that. It’s like it’s supposed to be the glue that holds all relationships together. We know that's not how it works.
Josie: We believe it anyway. “Hope [he] know[s] that when [it’s] late at night, I hold on to a pillow tight” and “think about how [he’s] promised me forever.”
Pause.
Josie: He thinks about me when we’re together or if he can’t find anyone to be with. Then I get the call. It’s not like I don’t know what’s going on… It’s that I don’t want to lose the idea of us being a thing.
Sarah: You should talk to him. It’s not fair for you to feel the way you do and dismiss it as something okay. There are better people out there for you.
Josie: The conversation itself scares me! I’ve never had to break up with anyone before.
Sarah: Now’s your big chance if you want it. Dray’s at your eight o’clock.
Josie peers over her left shoulder and lets out a long sigh. Sarah starts to leave.
Josie: (to Sarah) I’ll catch up with you later. (to Dray) Dray! “won’t you come sit and talk to me?”
