"Netflix Trip"

Steve and Jennifer are at Jennifer’s apartment watching TV. They are siblings who live in the same city and hang out every once in a while.

Steve: Jenn, I’m okay. You don’t have to check up on me every five seconds.

Jennifer: I know, but I want to.

Steve: Stop though. Really. I’ll do it again with all this smothering.

Jennifer: Don’t even joke about that! You just proved why I check on you.

Steve: You’ve been here for me all my life sis. Before this year, “my mind was broken up I couldn't think.” You helped me get what I needed. I’m okay now. Really. I’m ready to go and just, I want to try something new. Leave town, leave this state, and start over.

Jennifer: I get it... The downside is that you won’t have anyone.

Steve: You have your life here with Jay. Maria is gone and all I could do is “[hug] her the way Michael” taught us when someone is really upset. I don’t really have anything tying me here, no one is coming back. You’d still call me, so you’ll still be around my life.

Jennifer: Too bad we can’t talk to our parents or Michael about this. They would tell us who we should be and what you should be doing right now.

Steve: They really did enjoy creating our life paths for us. It worked for a while, “but who are we to wonder where we're going?“

Jennifer: I don’t think it’s a bad thing to think about it every now and again. Take notice of how you feel about who you are and if there are things you want to fix, work on that.

Steve: I mean, “who am I to tell me who I am?”

Jennifer: You’ll figure it out, one way or another. I miss you already and you haven’t even left.
