"Forever"

Person: Why now? Couldn't we have had more time together? A few more years, minimum. This hurts. Not in a way I can explain it just hurts and I've never ached more for a few more moments. Remember that time we both finally figured out we had abandoned religion? We were so tentative as we finally told each other one of our biggest secrets. So "you may not be pious and I may not be saved" but it would be nice if we end up in wherever after this together again. You are worth knowing always. You know it would have been great if "we could live quite happily" in any time, any where, in the next one. Honestly, nothing would surprise me about what happens next. Right now I just want to be left "quietly unfazed."

So I don't know where you are. "So if you doubt for the time that you're spending" because you don't recognize anyone around you. "And if you doubt for the love in your heart" right this minute, just don't worry. Okay? That feeling is us. Everyone you've ever known thinking about you. The good times. The opportunities that you provided. There's this story you always shared and I hated when you brought it up, because you brought it up so often, but now I can't stop thinking about it. "Think of London" in the 80s "and the girl" and the package "you're returning." It's all there again. The actually beautiful day in a city that is usually a bummer. The history. The sights. The chips. You ate nothing but chips. Why would anyone eat that many fries? What were you thinking? But you were in your 20s "and the days you defend” with that concept alone. Being in your 20s, eating whatever and doing whatever. I envy the times you told me that story. If only you could tell me that story one more time.

Everything "[turned] to gold" when you were around. Here, there, wherever you are. You turn everything, everyone to gold. We were always happy with you. You'll never know the true impact of who you were to us. There's nothing more you can do for us now. We appreciate you and all you did. "So love. With your eyes. Love, with your mind. Love. With you. Dare I stay here forever" with you in my heart.
