"Landslide"
In the mall, Rye and Gin are sitting in the food court people watching. They've been there for some time.
Rye: That was adorable. How long do you think they've been together?
Gin: 8 months.
Rye: Why?
Gin: The way they're holding hands, but not. Like they still are wanting to be close, but it's no longer the honeymoon phase.
Rye: I was going to say 7 years.
Gin: That's so long.
Rye: Whatever happened to that last thing?
Gin: Oh. It ended.
Rye: You know why this time?
Gin: "Well, I've been afraid of changing."
Rye: Why?
Gin: I don't know why. It's who I am. It was always in my head that the mentality to a good relationship was that of "I've built my life around you" type. It is not a good method though. Who is there for me, ya know.
Rye: Glad you're finally coming around. "But time makes you bolder" so it really is good you're finally realizing that.
Gin: How're the kids?
Rye: Good. Weird ages and hoping they grow out of some habits. I have no idea where they picked up some of these.
Gin: Well "even children get older."
Rye: "And I'm getting older too."
Gin: So? "I'm getting older too." It's the way of the world.
Rye: What do you think that woman on the phone is so mad about?
