"All I Know So Far"

Xandra, Yasmin, and Zhen are at brunch.

Yasmin: What's the news on the street today? 

Xandra: Nothing more exciting than usual. 

Zhen: I had an epiphany. 

Xandra: Tell us!

Zhen: Well "I wish someone would have told me that this life is ours to choose" like 15 years ago but of course that's one of the things we have to figure out on our own. 

Xandra: It wouldn't be as impactful if we took advice at the right time. 

Yasmin: It would be less dramatic.

Xandra: You do have the weirdest experiences of the three of us. Anyway, Zhen, what happened?

Zhen: That's the thing. I've done so much, opened up to more people. Tried to be less closed. It's a beautiful thing. 

Yasmin: I'm proud of you. Can you imagine if it were easy for us though? "No one's handing [us] the keys or a book with all the rules."

Xandra: Even if they did, I don't think I'd want it.

Zhen: Are you crazy? I would love someone to tell me what to do every now and again. Or just give me things. 

Xandra: I mean as the elder here.

Yasmin: By 4 months. 

Xandra: "The little that I know I'll tell you" both. 

Yasmin: Well thank you Queen. That's so generous. All I know is that I'm done with liars.

Zhen: What happened with your boo recently? 

Yasmin: Oh nothing. Also, not a liar.

Zhen: Agree to disagree.

Yasmin: It was someone who I know through someone else who thinks they're my best friend. 

Xandra: Was this that person who would take you out shopping just to have you end up paying?

Yasmin: Yes. "They dress you up in lies" and make it seem so magical being around them. 

Zhen: "And you're left naked with the truth" and out 300 bucks. 

Xandra: How many times did you get stiffed?

Yasmin: Two. And don't you both look at me like that.
