"The Passenger"
Elin is dressed in sleek black army gear. It’s 2377. She’s with her Captain, Zak, and Strategist, Mya.
Mya: “Permission” to speak.
Elin: Granted.
Mya: “Now to let this thing land” when we want we need to wait until 2pm tomorrow to avoid the wind storm.
Elin: That makes sense to me. I haven’t been paying attention to the weather in the recent weeks. Do you feel the same Zak?
Zak: “I’m too far gone to know where I am.”
Mya: “Conditions are worse than we planned” last week. So we need to do this within a very short time frame. So do I have “permission now to let this thing land” tomorrow?
Elin: Granted. (pointing to something on the map) What is our plan around the attack on Sector five-eight-two-three?
Zak: We don’t want to attack Sector five-eight-two-three.
Elin: Why not?
Zak: We’d be “heading straight into the blackness.” That territory was taken 10 days ago. They stripped it and no one is there except to trip up other factions.
Elin: We can’t have that. I won’t have our teams go “beyond the point of ever turning back.” What are our other options?
Mya: We’ve been working on it. There are some things that are “slipping off the radar.” We don’t know what happened to a few of the groups. It’s as if they went “through a hole in space.”
Zak: We need to also change the seats on our fighter planes. It is safer if “the passenger [sits] backwards” while they shoot through the windows.
Elin: Okay. See if the engineers can get it done within the week.
Mya: What are we going to do about the main war?
Elin: “Adam took the apple” and started it. I’ve been making plans the last few days.
Mya: We kicked him out.
Elin: It was necessary. “I was not involved,” but others don’t know that. We have to keep moving our group forward. “I’m not responsible for how lost we are,” but I won’t let us lose. We will win this.
