"My Best Friend"

Sherry and James are in bed trying to get to sleep.

Sherry: I can’t sleep.

James: Keep talking to me then. I love it when you talk to me before we go to sleep.

Sherry: We have to get some sleep tonight. At least I do.

James: That’s why coffee was invented!

Sherry: Staahp. (mumbling) I have to be up in five hours.

James: What? I thought we had until 8.

Sherry: Not for me tomorrow.

James: You can still talk to me until you fall asleep. “You are my best friend and I love you.”

Sherry: “And I love you” too, but I can talk all night.

James: It’s like a slumber party. “There is no other one that can take your place” when you talk to me. I love listening to you even if it’s half asleep mumbles.

Sherry: (sleepily) “I feel happy inside when I see your face.”

James: “I hope you believe me” now. You are sappy too. Still want to talk?

Sherry: No, I need to sleep. Turn over so I can spoon you.

James: OKAY! Goodnight best friend. I love you
